Professional Notes
Dr. Mian treats children and adults with asthma, allergy and immunology problems. As your physician, her goal is to spend time listening to you and to concentrate on your individual health needs. She will do her best to address your concerns and through her medical care, help you live a healthier life.
Specialized Treatments:
- Rhinolaryngoscopy: Some areas of the nose and throat are out of reach of our regular exam tools. In these cases, after using a decongestant and mild topical anesthetic we use a thin, fiberoptic camera (rhinolaryngoscope) to evaluate all of your nasal cavity, throat and larynx. This procedure takes about 5 to 10 minutes. Our patients generally describe only mild discomfort during this procedure.
- We also offer an accelerated immunotherapy program called Cluster Immunotherapy. This involves giving two or more allergy shots at each visit, usually spaced apart by 20 to 30 minutes or so. This procedure is performed once a week, and also allows for a person to get to their maintenance dose much quicker. cluster immunotherapy offers an alternative to traditional schedules for allergy shots, allowing a person to achieve higher doses of allergy shots much quicker, and therefore get benefit sooner.
